CARLISLE, Pa. - Mckenna Gross tallied her second goal of the season with 66:35 off the clock to allow the Dickinson women's soccer team to secure a 1-1 draw against the visiting University of Scranton on Wednesday evening at Miller Memorial Field.
First half
Dickinson was on the attack early as Emma Barrabee, Joelle Ma and Ava Prisco all let shots go towards goal, but none of them bothered Makenzie Van Arsdale.
Despite the pressure from the Red and White it would ultimately be the visitors who struck first as Alexis Ocasio found Natalia Dobush for a finish past goalie Pico Gray.
The home side went in search of a quick response; however, both Isabelle Bariso and Prisco were denied by Van Arsdale as the half entered the final 15 minutes.
With five seconds remaining Gross had the chance to tie the score going to the break, but her offering slipped just wide right.
Dickinson kept the pressure on with attempts from Mamady Bangoura, Barrabee, Gross and Prisco all missing the mark within the opening 15 minutes.
Scranton had the opportunity to make it 2-0 in the 60th, but Lena Madjor was stopped by Gray.
Six minutes later Gross deposited a feed from Ma past the reach of Van Arsdale, tying the score at 1-1.
Gray was called upon in the 83rd to turn aside Caroline Roche, while Bariso sent a chance over the top of the net in the final minute, ending the match.
