Early deficit does not deter Devils in CC win

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Dickinson women's soccer team found themselves in an early 2-0 hole less than 10 minutes into their road conference match on Saturday afternoon at Washington College. However, the Red and White would not be deterred as three goals prior to halftime sparked the side to a 4-2 win at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium.

First half

• The home side needed less than 90 seconds to take a 1-0 lead with Kaileigh Brady slipping a shot past Pico Gray.
• In the eighth minute Dickinson tried to even things up, but Olivia Allen denied Emma Barrabee.
• The Shorewomen went right back the other way and extended the margin to 2-0 with Brady finishing off her brace.
• Dickinson halved the deficit with 11:17 gone as the ball deflected off a Washington defender past Allen for an own goal.
• Following a save from Gray against Gina Everitt, Joelle Ma drew the Red and White level with a blast beyond Allen.
• The duo of Isabelle Bariso and Anna Bitsko forced stops out of Allen, before Kaitlyn Arnold stashed a shot into the net to make it 3-2 a half hour in.
• Mckenna Gross, Ava Prisco, Bitsko and Ma all tallied shots the remainder of the period, but none of them bothered Allen.

Second half

• Gray was tested within the first minute by Brady, who went in search of her hat trick; however, the Devil held her ground.
• After Bitsko and Prisco missed the mark, Bitsko played provider for Mamady Bangoura, who pushed the gap to 4-2 with just under a half hour left.
• The DC defense held things down the rest of the way, not allowing anything else to come Gray's way the rest of the match as the final horn sounded.

• Dickinson (6-1-2) gets back to non-conference play on Wednesday afternoon when they head to Selinsgrove for a battle with Susquehanna University at 5 p.m.
