CARLISLE, Pa. - Roan Harrington notched a brace, while Maxim Temple added one to give the Dickinson men's soccer team a 3-0 halftime advantage on Saturday afternoon at Miller Memorial Field. The visitors from Muhlenberg College would pull one back, but it would not be enough as the Red and White secured the second seed in next week's Centennial Conference tournament with a 3-1 win.
First half
Inside the first 15 minutes each team had one chance with Jeremy Sallade and Mack Metcalf missing the target for their respective side.
Following an attempt from Paul Hartman that was blocked down by the defense, Dickinson went off on the counterattack with Harrington and Temple going on a two-on-one as Harrington ultimately fed the ball past the reach of Nico Famularo making it 2-0 with 36 minutes gone.
The home side kept the pressure up as Andrew Schreiner, Timi Omoniwa and Mika Rafidimahavonjy had attempts blocked by the defense. However, Omoniwa was able to touch the ball across the six-yard box to Harrington for the finish (3-0).
Muhlenberg tried to crack the board in the final minute, but Thomas Shreiber missed to the right of Gavin Marr.
Marr was tested less than a minute in when he closed the door on Metcalf.
Dickinson went in search of a fourth, but the trio of Josh Dozier, Rafidimahavonjy and Sallade were unable to get a shot all the way to Famularo.
Muhlenberg did eventually find the back of the net with 54:19 gone when Jake Cooke sent a free kick to Ethan Buttner who nodded the ball to Lorenzo Vargas-Clarke for the tap-in.
Henry Schultz had two attempts, while Marr had the answer for Jake Marks.
