CARLISLE, Pa. – Former Dickinson College baseball standout Andrew Mazzone '23 has been named to the D3baseball.com 50th Anniversary Golden Team, earning recognition among 68 of the most accomplished NCAA Division III players from the past half-century.
The honor places Mazzone in rare company and adds a national distinction to a career that took shape at MacPhail Field. Although his Division III career later continued at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, the foundation for the honor was laid at Dickinson. A left-handed hitter from Belmont, Massachusetts, Mazzone arrived in Carlisle in 2020 and developed into one of the most dangerous and consistent offensive players in program history. Following the abbreviated beginning to his collegiate career, he broke through in 2021 by earning First Team All-Centennial Conference honors as a designated hitter.
Mazzone raised his production even higher during the 2022 campaign as he led the Red Devils with a .423 batting average, .517 on-base percentage, .711 slugging percentage and 41 hits. He added 29 RBIs, 26 runs, six doubles, two triples and six home runs while recording 16 multi-hit games.

His signature performance came against Neumann on March 30, when he went a perfect 5-for-5 with three home runs, seven RBIs, five runs scored and a triple in an 18-15 victory. The three homers tied the Centennial Conference single-game record, and his season resulted in Second Team All-Conference recognition.
Returning to the lineup in 2023, Mazzone helped lead one of the most memorable postseason runs in Dickinson history. He batted .382 with a .627 slugging percentage, producing 28 RBIs, 24 runs, 10 doubles and five homers in 26 games.
Mazzone was especially dangerous during the Centennial Conference Tournament, going 10-for-24 with 10 RBIs, six runs and three home runs as the Red and White reached the championship game. Dickinson finished 25-18-1, highlighted by an 11-5 postseason victory over top-ranked and top-seeded Johns Hopkins.
Mazzone concluded his Dickinson tenure as a three-time All-Centennial selection, adding Honorable Mention recognition in 2023 to his earlier First- and Second-Team honors. His name remains prominent throughout the Red Devil record book. He ranks second in program history with a .409 career batting average and a .641 slugging percentage, owns the career record with a .492 on-base percentage and stands third with 13 home runs.
Selection to the Golden Team now gives Mazzone's accomplishments a place within the broader history of Division III baseball. For Dickinson, it also celebrates a hitter whose combination of consistency, power and postseason production established a standard that continues to endure in Carlisle.
