Knisely’s Pet & farm center is a 3rd generation, locally owned, pet, lawn and garden store, founded by George and Ed Knisely. Ed was a former district salesman with the Ralston Purina Co. He began looking for a location to open a Purina dealership and found one in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. On January 4th, 1960, a complete feed store with grinding and mixing facilities was opened!
We stayed at that location until 1996, when we relocated to our present location with a 5,000sqft showroom, and 3,000sqft warehouse.

Employee training will always be a requirement, and we take great pride in knowing that our employees have knowledge of the products and programs in order to better assist the customer.
Knisely’s current staff consist of seven full-time and five part-time employees that have a combined 125 years of experience in animal nutrition and pet food. You don’t find this extent of knowledge in most stores! All Knisely’s employees are pet and animal owners that will treat yours as if they were their own!
