For five games in 2020, the Harrisburg Senators will be called the "Playeros de Harrisburg."
The team announced Thursday it will participate in "Copa de la Diversion," an initiative in Minor League Baseball since 2018 to "help teams authentically engage with their Hispanic/Latino community," the Senators' press release said.
The five-game stretch will have a "beachgoers" theme. Harrisburg said it collaborated with "local members of the Hispanic/Latino community and the Latino Hispanic Professional Association to find a creative and meaningful way to incoroprate Hispanic/Lantino values and culture."
The jerseys and caps for the campaign will be unveiled in March.
The Sens open the season April 16 against the Reading Fightin' Phils.
