READING — Christian Marrero hit a grand slam in the eighth inning, and Cole Irvin allowed just three hits over six innings as the Reading Fightin Phils beat the Harrisburg Senators 7-4 on Sunday.
The grand slam by Marrero scored Damek Tomscha, Jiandido Tromp, and Kyle Martin and was the game's last scoring play.
Irvin struck out four and walked three while allowing three runs.
Tom Windle (3-2) got the win in relief while Jimmy Cordero (2-6) took the loss in the Eastern League game. Victor Arano retired the side in order for his ninth save of the season.
Reading improved to 10-4 against Harrisburg this season.
