Once again it was Elmora, New Jersey, and once again it was a shutout.

East Pennsboro Little League fell for the second time in four days to the New Jersey state champion, dropping a 4-0 decision Wednesday afternoon in the consolation second round of the Little League Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament. The loss ends East Penn’s playoff run in Bristol, Connecticut, a few games short of its goal.

Elmora, one of the favorites to win the regional, beat EP 1-0 in Sunday’s first round. The Pennsylvania state champs had only a little more success the second time around, managing three hits. Steel Bayer, Mason Smith and Jon Erdossy all recorded base knocks.

Aaron Angelo was strong during his five-inning complete game, allowing just two earned runs. he fanned nine, walked two and allowed five hits.

Elmora took the lead in the bottom of the first, and it was more than enough. With two outs they recorded three straight singles to plate two runs. Then an error allowed a third run to score.
