Dickinson’s Justus Melton scored a team-high 19 points, but the Red Devils dropped a 77-75 decision to Franklin & Marshall Wednesday night.

  • Standout Shippensburg women’s basketball freshman Ariel Jones (Cedar Crest) was named the PSAC Freshman of the Year and All-PSAC East First Team on Thursday. The first freshman in the PSAC to make the First Team since 2008 (California, Pa.’s Kayla Smith), Jones finished with a conference rookie record 609 points, averaging 21.8 points. She is the only freshman among the nation’s top 35 scorers, and the first in PSAC history to reach 600 points in a season. She’s the first to hit that mark at SU since Lauren Beckley in 2009-10.
  • On the men’s side, senior Dustin Sleva was named the PSAC East Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. He averaged 21.5 points and 10.7 rebounds and posted 19 double-doubles for the PSAC-contending Red Raiders. Sleva became the second player in SU history to earn three All-PSAC First Team honors in his career, along with current assistant coach Chuck Davis. He’s joined by teammates classmate Justin McCarthur (Bishop McDevitt, Second Team) and John Castello (Second Team).
  • Junior Stephanie O’Toole was selected Friday to the NCAA Division II Swimming Championships. The SU 200 IM and 100 breaststroke specialist will compete March 14-17 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
  • Dickinson men’s basketball senior Justus Melton was named All-Centennial Conference First Team on Wednesday. He averaged 15.3 points and 7.8 rebounds this season, becoming the 26th Red Devil to eclipse 1,000 career points. Joining him was sophomore Bryce Allen (Second Team). On the women’s side, senior Kassidy Lesher was named Second Team.
  • Dickinson swimming junior Olivia Lyman was named All-Centennial Conference First Team in the women’s 500 and 1650 free. Sophomore Will Freeman was named Honorable Mention in the men’s 200 IM. Freshmen Tyler Catania and Faith Meacham were named to the Sportsmanship Team.
