Penn State safety Marcus Allen and kick returner Saquon Barkley were named All-Big Ten defense first team Tuesday. Joining them were fellow Nittany Lions Jason Cabinda (linebacker) and Amani Oruwariye (cornerback) on second team by either coaches or media and Shareef Miller (defensive end) on third team by the media. Additionally honorable mentions were Troy Apke, Christian Campbell, Curtis Cothran, Parker Cothren and Grant Haley. Punter Blake Gillikin was named second team, as was punt returner DeAndre Thompkins. The All-Big Ten offense will be announced Wednesday.
Shippensburg volleyball player Samantha Webber was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Atlantic Region Volleyball Second Team on Tuesday. Webber leads Shippensburg with 368 kills and a .297 hitting percentage, which are both career-highs, while ranking second on the team with 77 blocks. She ranks 10th in the PSAC in both kills per set (3.26) and hitting percentage.
The Shippensburg men's basketball team rolled past Chestnut Hill 80-67 behind a double-double from Dustin Sleva, who put up 17 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Justin MacCarthur had 18 points on the night, while Jake Biss had 15.
Dickinson women's basketball got the win over McDaniel 60-57 behind a double-double from Kassidy Lesher with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Emily Padalino added 11 points in the win, while Claudia Maira notched 10.
