Carlisle’s Sarah Guistwite was one of three singles players to win Thursday in the team's District 3-opening win over New Oxford.

Carlisle's Sarah Guistwite punched her ticket to the District 3 Class 3A Singles Tennis Championships semifinals after winning her first round and quarterfinal matches on Friday at Hershey Racquet Club. Teammate Meg Ulrich fell in the first round to Manheim Township's Kayla Kurtz 7-5, 6-3.

Guistwite defeated Reading's Ashley Retana 6-1, 6-2 in the first round and then dropped Conrad Weiser's Leah Bouchard in the quarters 6-2, 6-3. She faces Hershey's Caroline Corcoran in the semis on Saturday at 1.

In Class 2A, East Pennsboro's Ava Lewis cruised through the first round and quarterfinals, getting wins against Harrisburg's Lauren Shebby (6-0, 6-1) and Wyomissing's Jasmine Wang (6-2, 6-1), respectively. She faces Berks Catholic's Rebekah Schnatz in the semifinals on Saturday at 1.

Trinity's Sahara Sipple got the sweep over Kennard-Dale's Brianna Miller 6-0, 6-0 in the Class 2A first round, but fell to Eastern York's Evelyn Whiteside 6-2, 6-0 in the quarters.
