Boiling Springs’ Jack Still competes in the Mid-Penn Class 2A Diving Championships held Monday night at Big Spring High School.

The area has a pair of champions, one a repeat and the other a first-timer after Thursday’s weather-delayed District 3 Class 2A Diving Championships at Big Spring High School.

Boiling Springs senior Jack Still defended his 2018 title in style with a total score of 466.50 points, nearly 84 ahead of teammate Jordan Morrett (382.85).

Trinity senior Erica Kenski kept up her solid postseason, following up her Mid-Penn Class 2A title with a District 3 girls championship, her first.

Kenski finished with 370.55 points, with Bubblers junior Lily Reighard finishing second with 318.30.

“I was more confident than other years,” Kenski said. “In past years, I came out disappointed in my performance and the way I dove.”

“Going into Mid-Penn’s and coming out on top gave me a new confidence to come into districts. Coming out of that win, I felt reborn and I came out stronger.”

Still said that having Morrett push him led to his repeat.

“On a good day, I fully believe he can beat me. He’s beaten me in dual meets before,” Still said. “It put some pressure on me, but I know if I am going to get beat, I would rather have it be no one but Jordan. He is a great diver and a great teammate. We are like a dynamic duo.”
