Boiling Springs' Maddie Hughes, left, earned her second straight All-Sentinel Player of the Year award and made the Pennsylvania All-State team in November.

Just a week before she was named the All-Sentinel Player of the Year for the second straight season, Boiling Springs senior forward Maddie Hughes was named one of four area players to make the Pennsylvania Girls Soccer All-State Team, selected by the Pa. Soccer Coaches Association.

Hughes, who led her Bubblers on another long playoff run, was joined by Carlisle senior forward Meg Tate, Northern senior forward Kayla Swope and Camp Hill sophomore midfielder Julia Raich.

Hughes became and overtime hero throughout the playoffs, and she finished with 53 points (26 goals, 17 assists) in her final season. The Wingate commit has a career 108 goals and 62 assists.

Tate tallied her 100th career goal this past season as the Thundering Herd made the District 3 tournament. She racked up 22 goals and 59 points in 2018 as a multi-talented attacker who was named All-Sentinel First Team Midfielder. She had six game-winning and six game-tying goals.

Raich teamed up with senior forward Sheridan Reid to spark a repeat Camp Hill District 3 championship run, finishing with 29 goals and 13 assists in her second year.

The all-state team was released in late November.
