Although we only had one game this week, it was a crucial time for us to regroup and refocus as playoff time gets closer and closer.
Since the season started, we have been playing games nonstop, so practices have been less frequent and often have been dedicated to recovery from the previous game. However, this week that was not the case as our only game was against Chambersburg later in the week. This allowed us to have three full-effort practices in one week, which is rare during the high school season.
Aside from preparing for our game, we took time at practice to repair points of weakness in recent games. With only a couple weeks left until districts begin, a streak of practices like this is ideal for us to work out any kinks before elimination games start.

Even though we had multiple practices, our main focus of the week was the game at hand: Chambersburg. Having beaten them earlier in the season, we knew they would come ready to play. Despite their high energy, we started the game well, scoring early to give us a 1-0 lead. After that, the game remained a stalemate with both teams missing scoring chances. Then, in the second half, we scored another goal to cushion our lead and Chambersburg’s morale was crushed. We dominated the rest of the game and it ended 2-0, giving us a sweep against them for the season.
Although we only have two losses thus far, we know that we still have loads of work to do before playoffs. With only three more games until districts, it’s crunch time and everybody knows it’s time to step up our game to a new level.
