Molly Snyder In My Words

Going into the week, our girls team stands 2-1. Thinking about our week ahead, we have a good matchup with Red Land and Cedar Cliff on Tuesday.

Going into that meet, the girls are excited for a strong comeback after our loss to Hershey. That meet was one of, and if not, our toughest dual/tri meet. We were unsure how the outcome would have been. Both of our teams have great depth and strength. The meet was to see who was slightly stronger.

Sadly, we were not. We were disappointed with the end results, not so much our times. We all had a great times — almost all of us had dropped time within a week.

There was a great atmosphere getting on the bus. As we were leaving the park, Coach Mike Rebuck told us, “Out of all the days to lose to Hershey, today was the day. Later in the season it won’t matter.” When he said that it won’t matter later in the season, we realized that he meant we were going to get better and stronger. It showed that we aren’t ready now, but when it really matters we will be.

We may not have won, but we still had great results. We have taken the time to reflect on what we can do to make us stronger and we are ready for the next couple of weeks and the meets ahead.
