In My Words Natalie Sassano

This past week we returned to our home court on Monday and Tuesday night after a stretch of six straight away games. We have a great support system at home and it is nice to see students, friends and family members supporting us.

At the beginning of the season, each player on the high school team is assigned to a girls elementary school team that plays on Saturday mornings. During these Saturday games, we help coach the girls, teach them basketball skills and cheer them on. This is a time for us to get to know the girls on our respective teams and create friendships. This is also our way of giving back to the community who supports us every year. As a team, we enjoy spending time with our elementary school friends.

Our Tuesday night game was elementary school night and all of the teams were invited to come to the high school game. The players and coaches were all recognized at halftime. After the game, we enjoyed pizza and other snacks with them. The elementary players were given a poster of the high school team and could ask the high school players to autograph them. We loved seeing all the elementary teams at our game. Hopefully someday those girls will represent the Cedar Cliff Girls basketball program!

This week we have two home games: Tuesday against Lower Dauphin and Friday against our rival Red Land.
