This week we tried something a little bit different as a team. Our goal was keep intensity high at all times on and off the field.
This started at practice Tuesday. We each got a “hype man.” This means that our job for the rest of the season is to constantly cheer for our partner in both games and practice. We did this to try and help push ourselves one step further. As the season continues we know that our bodies and minds are getting tired, but we have to just push through.
As we went in to Thursday’s Mid-Penn Championship game we were feeling more confident and energized. We were super excited in the locker room before the game because we didn’t even make it to this game last season. We scored the first goal of the game 15 seconds in. We stayed up most of the first half, but when those first 25 minutes were up, we were down by one.
Halftime we kept up our intensity and made a few adjustments to help us when taking the field again. At the start of the second half we were falling a little behind. Hershey scored some quick back-to-back goals to put them in more of a lead. Still, we never gave up. Time went on, minutes depleted and sadly we lost 15-11.
Our season, however, is far from over. Our first round of districts is Monday night at home against South Western. We faced them last year in districts and plan to pull out another win.
