Colin Boyd In My Words

Simple things are what the Big Spring student section always enjoys. Pregame interactions with our team are always fun and help to keep a light mood. We also love it when the other team starts talking to us because that means we are in their heads. In the end, those are our two objectives on a nightly basis. We aim to keep our team in high hopes because no team ever plays well while anxious. However, if we can get a good player from the other team to rethink taking a shot, I think we succeeded in what we came there to do.

There are other interactions that are certainly fun for everyone involved. Those would be the interactions with the officials. The other night one of the members of the student section was wearing a tutu. It was great to see all three officials walk by, laugh and poke fun. Then, accordingly, we had to start a “we love tutus” chant as soon as the second half got underway. This experience and many others like it lead us to choose a new student section theme for the biggest game of the year, Boiling Springs at home.

Instead of doing the traditional costume idea, you will see the Big Spring student section in bright tutus and bandannas. Since making this idea public, multiple parents have came up to say they love the idea and are looking forward to seeing the final product. On another note, as a reference to a previous article I wrote, the brown out occurred last week it was an outstanding success.
