Try 3 months for $3
Colin Boyd In My Words

Last Friday the Bulldog student section had the idea of having a “new year celebration.” The idea was people would come in their 2019 party hats and glasses and we would have our own countdown at the end of the game. Little did I know how many moving parts there would be in this whole idea.

On Wednesday we began planning on getting the supplies for the evening. With it being past the new year holiday, we knew most places would probably have their stuff put away. However, this didn’t stop my advisor and myself from running to different dollar stores all around the Newville and Carlisle area. We ended up buying all that we could and hoping it would be enough.

The day of the game we were a little worried that we wouldn’t have enough things for everyone. Lately our student section has been getting bigger and bigger as each game goes past. However, before the game multiple people said they would bring more things for everyone making it a true group effort. We ended up having more than enough for everyone which made for a real good time at Big Spring.

A student section isn’t necessarily made up of one leader. Instead it’s about everyone who’s willing to go to all the games and help out where it is needed. Personally, I would much rather have four rows of people who all want to cheer rather than 20 rows of people who don’t care much about the outcome.
