Trinity football: Todd Ryan

Todd Ryan has been hired to replace Troy Jensen as the Trinity head football coach.

Todd Ryan will be the new head football coach at Trinity, according to a press release from the school late Friday night.

Ryan has served as an assistant coach for 17 years at various local programs, according to the press release. Among his stops were Mechanicsburg, Boiling Springs, Steel-High, Cedar Cliff and also Dickinson.

The University of Pittsburgh graduate was a defensive lineman for the Panthers from 1989-1993.

Ryan replaces Troy Jensen, who led the Shamrocks for three seasons, going 8-22. Jensen accepted an assistant coaching job at fledgling Division III program Alvernia.

Four area teams went through or are still going through coaching changes this season. Mechanicsburg replaced Billy Furman with Anthony Rose, and Red Land's Chad Weaver resigned and was replaced by former coach Frank Gay.

With Ryan's hire at Trinity, only Boiling Springs, which lost Zack Stroh in late March, has a position left to fill.
