  • More sound defense helped Cedar Cliff claim fifth place in the District 3 Class 6A playoffs. The No. 6 Colts beat Dallastown 43-35 on Thursday night in a placement game at Cumberland Valley High School. No Wildcat reached double figures against Cedar Cliff (19-7), with three finishing with nine points. As good as the D was, Emily Esser was mighty fine on offense. Esser dropped 22 points on six 3-pointers, recording more than half the Colts' points in the win. It blew away her season high (13 against York Catholic). Rachael Reilly had nine, including the team's only other trey. Cedar Cliff will face the District 1 runner-up when the PIAA Class 6A tournament opens March 9.
