Camp Hill grad Diamond Bragg announced Sunday afternoon on Twitter she is bringing back her More Than a Game Charity All-Star Basketball Game for the second straight year.
Now a Wisconsin freshman guard, Bragg debuted the event in May, 2018 at the end of her storied four-year career at Camp Hill. The event raised more than $50,000, her stated goal, for Camp Curtin YMCA.
Bragg said on Twitter she hopes to raise more than that number this year. Once again, the event, which will feature a girls all-star game and a boys all-star game, will be held at Harrisburg Area Community College’s Evans PE Center on May 16.
Last year’s contests featured two teams of 12 players, 24 boys and 24 girls, from the central Pennsylvania area. They included some of the best senior players from the Mid-Penn Conference, Tri-Valley League, Berks, Lancaster and York.
The 2019 version will follow a similar format. The final teams, as voted on by area reporters, will be unveiled at a later date.
Bragg already has multiple sponsors for the all-star games. To inquire about sponsoring the games, text MTAGCCY to 71777, Bragg said on Twitter.
Diamond Bragg doesn’t want to be remembered just for her hardwood exploits.
