On July 15, the 31st annual Bob Baish Golf Memorial was held at the Cumberland Golf Course. When Bob had the idea of a fun golf tournament back in 1986, he would have never dreamed it would turn into this tournament for 31 years!
Bob was a local businessman, owner of Bob Baish Body Shop and a very big sports enthusiast and community supporter. He died of cancer in 1988.
Bob was the force behind the start of the midget football program at Big Spring High School, was president and also an umpire of Newville Little League, PIAA official at Big Spring High School and Carlisle YMCA swimming and diving.
Always supporting high school sports and volunteering whenever asked to help the community, what is a better way to remember him by and help others by supporting hospice.
"Thank you" sounds very insufficient for 31 years to our loyal sponsors and the working committee made up of Bill Farner, Roger Kelly, Ken Wiser, family and volunteers who make this tournament a success.
Everyone in life is touched by tragedy at some point in their lifetime and needs support. Hospice is always there to give support, and strength and compassion to all in need. So what better way to honor Bob than continuing to give back to the community in this way?

The Baish family hopes this golf tournament is always enjoyed by the 144 golfers who make it possible to be able to support this worthy cause by donating $5,000 to the Hospice of Central Pennsylvania to benefit the many families in need.
With our gratitude and sincere thanks,
