Dear Editor:

We've been residents of Cumberland County for 10 years, having moved here to be near our children and grandkids. Prior to moving, our son told us we'd like the city amenities and small town friendly people. He was right, it's a wonderful place to retire.

We settled in Silver Spring Township and were immediately confronted by the possibility of a warehouse construction on farmland adjacent to our development. We attended township meetings and became acquainted with supervisor Vince DiFilippo, signed up for his land preservation group and witnessed first hand his hard work and dedication to his community. Sorry to see him move on, we fully supported his candidacy for Cumberland County Commissioner.

He has been, not surprising to us, an extremely hard-working, dedicated public servant in this office. In this time of political division, we as Democrats, will once again proudly place our sign for Vince DiFilippo in our front yard and we encourage everyone to forget the party and vote for a competent, hard-working public servant.
