Dear Editor:

What makes a strong community? The answer to that is not easy to define and can mean different things to different people. One key resource for making our own local community a better place to live in so many ways is the United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County. They help to fund a wide variety of programs that provide vital services in partnership with local member agencies.

United Way funding at the Amelia Givin Library in Mt. Holly Springs helps hundreds of pre-school children each year develop and improve reading and literacy skills — so crucial to future school success and then later in the workplace. Our library also provides many services for people of all ages — free materials to borrow, access to computers, and educational programs.

Your support of the United Way campaign going on right now makes a difference to so many — and helps us build a stronger community one person at a time. Thank you!
