Dear Editor:

I have been running for Congress for 15 months, first in the 11th District against Lou Barletta, and now in the new 10th District primary for the chance to defeat Scott Perry and get your government working for you.

There are many considerations that go into choosing a candidate. It can be challenging to learn enough to make good choices. Fortunately, PCN TV has recorded three Democratic candidate forums and posted them on its website. I encourage voters to watch any or all of these and to check the FEC and House of Representatives websites, as well. The FEC site shows voters where candidates raise money and how they are spending it. The House site includes financial disclosures for all incumbents and candidates, allowing voters to see the candidates’ financial interests.

The Strong Communities — Strong Nation economic message has been central to my campaign from the start. We know that while the national economy has recovered from the Great Recession, many of our communities have not. We can fix that by directing national focus to the local level, increasing the money supporting local governments and increasing the money in your wallets. When you and your community have more revenue, you can generate more local demand. More local demand creates more local business and more local jobs.

Republican cuts to spending and tax cuts focused on the wealthy decrease revenue in local communities, stifling local demand, undermining local businesses, and destroying local jobs.

Your community is vital to your future. We do better when our communities thrive. Our future, and the future of our children, is threatened when our communities suffer.

Please visit my website at and vote for me on May 15. We can do better. We will do better. We will build strong communities and a strong nation.
