Dear Editor:

There are four Republican candidates running for two seats on the Silver Spring Township Board of Supervisors. You want to choose someone with a proven record who displays honesty and integrity.

As a two-term supervisor, I have a reputation as being reliable and responsible. The residents’ interests and concerns are uppermost in my mind as I approach this job. More that most, I understand why residents must be heard; that is who I am elected to represent. I was inspired to run for supervisor when a previous board refused to listen to me and my neighbors, and rezoned our land from AG to residential.

My lifelong residency coupled with my strong business background gives me special insights into good decision making for the township. Preserving our heritage is so important, but it is also possible to advocate for responsible growth. Balance is the key.

We are one of the fastest growing municipalities in the state, and face extraordinary challenges. While holding the line on taxes, we must make wise financial decisions managing road improvements, encouraging our volunteer emergency responders, and implementing wise planning for the future.

Nancy Konhaus Griffie will always look out for you. Laura Brown deserves your second vote.

Nancy Konhaus Griffie is a candidate for the Silver Spring Township Board of Supervisors.
