VALLEY FORGE, Pa. (AP) — Police believe a man was electrocuted at Valley Forge National Historical Park while trying to steal copper wiring from an electrical box.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that he was shocked at around 4 a.m. on the lawn of a mansion.
Police responding to a 911 call from the man's friend found the victim partly inside a 4,100-volt electrical box.
They say he was unconscious and later pronounced dead.
Authorities say the victim is a 41-year-old man from Norristown. They are not yet releasing his name.
Officials say he died outside the park's Kennedy Supplee Mansion. Valley Forge is about 20 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
