What is going on with the fatal shooting investigation in Carlisle?

It’s been more than two weeks since a fatal shooting in the borough took the life of a 23-year-old Carlisle man, and borough police said they are still investigating the June 21 daylight incident.

Carlisle Police Sgt. David Miller said they are following up on leads and witnesses regarding the shooting, but no arrests have been made.

Police are searching for two suspects in the shooting on East Penn Street. Police believe two men were involved and fired four to five gunshots about 3:45 p.m. June 21, targeting Michael Burch, 23, who died at the scene.

Immediately after the shooting, police put out a notice for a red 2018 Chevy Equinox, which was found in the parking area of the Heberlig-Palmer Tot Lot on Lincoln Avenue, unoccupied. Police determined that evening the vehicle was a rental.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call borough police at 717-243-5252.
