When is Firehouse Subs opening in Carlisle?

Firehouse Subs, located at 10 Noble Blvd., in the Carlisle Commons shopping center, officially opened its doors Tuesday.

The restaurant is operated by former teacher and U.S. Army veteran and now Firehouse Subs franchisee Marcus Odell.

“Investing in Firehouse Subs was my first venture into business ownership after ending my career in education,” Odell said in a written statement. “After serving this great country, I want to give the same dedication to the residents of Carlisle and introduce guests to an amazing product, while giving back to the community.”

The restaurant is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Firehouse Subs features small, medium and large hot specialty subs in its firefighter-themed restaurants.

The Carlisle location includes the display of local firefighter memorabilia and a hand-painted mural depicting local fire companies.

The company was founded about 22 years ago by former firefighters and brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, according to the company’s website.

The group also started the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, a nonprofit organization that donates funds and equipment to law enforcement and emergency responders.

A news release issued by the company about the Carlisle location said the foundation has donated more than $362,000 in grants in Pennsylvania and would be “giving back to the Carlisle community.”

The new location joins Five Guys, which opened in April, in the former Tractor Supply Company building.

A new Chick-fil-A restaurant is under construction on a separate pad site within Carlisle Commons.
