HARRISBURG - A Dauphin County woman who stole thousands of dollars from the church where she worked then skipped town for more than two years has been sentenced to time served and probation.
Thirty-year-old Michelle McMullen was released from custody following her sentencing hearing Tuesday in Dauphin County Court.
McMullen had pleaded guilty to forgery and theft charges over the money taken from Progress-Immanuel Presbyterian Church before her disappearance in September 2008.

Prosecutors say McMullen wrote herself checks and gave herself raises while working as a secretary at the church. When she came under suspicion police say she dropped off her 6-year-old son with a friend and disappeared. She was arrested in California earlier this year.
A hearing is scheduled to determine exactly how much money McMullen must pay back.
