A Carlisle man died Sunday afternoon after the motorcycle he was operating struck a truck head-on in Upper Frankford Township.

Rafael Vazquez, 24, of Carlisle, was traveling east on Enola Road near Brick Church Road in Upper Frankford Township around 12:30 p.m. Sunday on a 2017 Suzuki GSX-R 750 when he drifted across the center line and into the westbound lane, according to State Police at Carlisle.

Vazquez struck a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driven by Ronald Shughart, 66, of Carlisle, and was thrown from the motorcycle, police said.

Vazquez was flown to Penn State Hershey Medical Center where he died as a result of the crash, according to police.

Vazquez was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.

Shughart and a passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to police.
