Meet Lela and Nora.
Lela is a sweet, Labrador retriever mix who is about 1 year old. She was abandoned and brought to a shelter in the south by a neighbor. She’s had a tough start after being transferred to a Pennsylvania shelter, then into a temporary foster home before arriving at a kennel.
The staff at the kennel says Lela is very sweet, curious and acts appropriately for a dog her age. She is interested and wants to play, though she does not seem good with small dogs. She is very friendly with staff, and her temporary foster home said she was fine with children.
Because moving can be stressful, the network is looking for a home for Lela that is quiet with active family members or a person who will exercise, walk and help her continue to learn more social manners and settings. Having a playful, well-socialized male dog her size would be a bonus.
Nora was born in November 2017 and abandoned on a porch in Newport. A foster mother with the network found space for her during the winter.

Nora is a sweet girl who gets along well with most of the other kitties in her foster home. She is also fine with dogs and children.
She is shy when meeting humans, but she is quite the snuggle bunny when she settles in. A less chaotic home would be best to allow her to shine.
This kitty has had initial vaccinations, de-worming, flea preventative, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and has been micro-chipped and altered or will be to be ready for adoption then.
