Kids Speak Out: 'The one thing I'm most looking forward to this summer is ...'

  • 0

Each week, The Sentinel publishes stories we receive to prompts in Kids World and on www.cumberlink.com. This week’s Kids Speak Out prompt was “The one thing I’m most looking forward to this summer is ...”

“The one thing I’m most looking forward to this summer is going to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I’m excited because you go to the Great Smoky Mountains. At the Great Smoky Mountains, you can see a lot of wildlife. There are lots of beautiful waterfalls, fun and amazing trails to walk. In Tennessee, you can go to many different Ripley’s attractions. There’s lot of good food and great country music. Also, Sevierville, Tennessee, is the home of the famous country singer Dolly Parton!”

“The one thing I’m looking forward to the most in the summer is this acting class. At Christmas, my mom and dad gave my brothers and I a paper that said classes on them. It was like art class, music class, acting class and a couple more options. I picked acting class, of course! You get to do plays and stuff. It is for third grade up to fifth grade. In the summer, I will be going up to third grade. My oldest brother picked music class and my other brother picked acting class with me. In the summer, my brother is going up to fifth grade so he can do acting class, too.”

“The one thing I’m most looking forward to this summer is going to Hersheypark because Hersheypark has all kinds of roller coasters and games. My favorite roller coaster is Sky Rush because it has a 300-foot hill, and when you’re on it, you feel the breeze going through your face.”

“The one thing I’m looking forward to the most in the summer is going to Deep Creek Lake. I’m staying in a house bigger than my other house! I will get to swim, fish and skip rocks because the creek is right near the house I am staying in. I’m going to get outside a lot, and I mean a lot! When I wake up, I am going to smell the fresh air and flowers. I really want to go hiking when I am there. I’ll have the best time there ever!”

“The one thing I’m most looking forward to this summer is flying down to Mississippi to play my viola and see my aunt and uncle and my three baby cousins and get fed like a royal.”

“The one thing I’m looking forward to the most in the summer is going to Mexico. We are going to be in a hotel with bunches of things to do. There’s a basketball court, lots of places to eat and there are bouncy houses right outside. There is a beach and a pool and a gaming room. I can’t wait!”

“The one thing I’m most looking forward to is my vacations throughout the summer. I am first going to Sea Isle City, New Jersey, for two weeks this summer. Then, a while later, we will be flying to Paris. After a couple of days in Paris, I will be going to Germany. The best part about this is I have fun, learn new things and, best of all, spend time with family.”

“The one thing I’m looking forward to the most in the summer is vacation! I will go to the beach, camping, my b-day, mom‘s b-day. Uhhggg! So much stuff to do. I love summer! But the bad thing is I have to take a shower every day. I get to jump in a pool—cannonball! Splash! I will eat a snowcone! I will jump in the water!”
