Each week, The Sentinel publishes stories we receive to prompts in Kids World and on www.cumberlink.com. This week’s Kids Speak Out prompt was “If I owned my own business, I would sell ...”

“If I owned my own business, I would sell guinea pigs. They are adorable and wake up a happy feeling inside of you when you touch one. Additionally, guinea pigs are easy to transport and almost everyone can take care of one. They live a lot longer than rats and mice, which allows you to enjoy them for years. These small creatures have a warm heart, which can heat yours. People would buy them because they are cheap, as well. There is a style and personality for everyone.”

“If I owned my own business, I would sell only candy bars. I would make $1,000 a day. I would make a park called Edward Park. There would be shops and famous restaurants. There would be some candy stores and roller coasters and other things like ice cream.”

“If I owned my own business, I would sell sporting goods at ‘C’s Sports.’ I want to sell sporting goods because I love sports. The thing I would have the most of is soccer equipment. I love soccer because it is a way I meet new friends. I hope my store encourages kids to play sports. My store will be friendly, and we will always be willing to help.”

“If I owned my own business, I would sell only candy because everybody loves candy. Even I love candy. If you had a business, what would you sell? I’ll tell you all the candy I am selling: licorice, black licorice, acid drops, chocolate, pickles and pizza. No one liked the pickles and pizza except for one customer, Cora, the bookstore lady. She buys pickles and pizza everyday. No one liked the black licorice either. Everybody loved everything else. I made a fortune and bought my own mansion!”
