Each week, The Sentinel publishes stories we receive to prompts in Kids World and on www.cumberlink.com. This week’s Kids Speak Out prompt was “If I had a spaceship, I would travel to ...”

“If I had a spaceship, I would go to a new planet and I would name it Upside Down Land because it would be upside down. I would have to do a handstand walk. Everything would be upside down.”

Brynnlee Bingham, 9

“If I had a spaceship, I would travel to Mars. One reason I would travel there is because no on has set a foot there yet. Also, I would become famous and earn money to use on my needs and wants. I would bring a flag of the USA with my picture on it. It would also say my full name.”

“If I had a spaceship, I would go to Planet Cookie. I would eat so much that I would probably get sick from all those cookies. Then I would go to Planet Pizza. I would bring my friends to eat the pizzas. Finally, I would go home for now.”

“If I had a spaceship, I would travel to planets far away. I might even travel to the dark side of the moon, but first I would remodel the ship. I would add powerful lights, a huge snack bar, wheels so it can drive on the moon, and other cool new technology. I would plan experiments and plant potatoes to make potato energy. After doing many more experiments, it’s off to Mars! I’ll study the red spot and gas from a safe distance. Then to Saturn to see how cold its rings really are. I’ll run experiments, but not the potato experiment one again. I’ll see if the ice is like glacier ice. It might help with our melting ice problem. After that I’ll report my answers back to earth. I’ll figure out how to make stronger glaciers someday. People can learn so much from our solar system.”

“If I had a spaceship, I would travel to Mars or Pluto. Pluto, yes Pluto, but when I made it, I was shivering c-c-c-cold. We found old junk from 1993. It’s been [26] years! And junk from 1830s. A nickel from 1530s. We found a lot of other coins too. I said to my partners, ‘What are we going to do with all this money?’ My partner George said, ‘Buy a mansion.’ My other partner, Bill, said, ‘Yes!’ So we got back to Earth and bought a mansion. We all lived there together with our families.”

“If I had a spaceship, I would travel to Uranus because Uranus is blue and is sideways. Also, blue is my favorite color, and the planet is sideways, which is super fun. Next, it would be fun and amazing to go into space on another planet.”

Eddie Gaydosh, 9

“If I had a spaceship, I would travel to Video Game Land. Video Game Land is amazing because all they have is video games. It’s also amazing because you get unlimited video games because the video games are free. The people that live there are video game characters. When you get there, you turn into a pixel, but when you are out, you turn back to normal. The planet looks like a flat pixel Earth. The people there are really nice. I will tell you [what] the coordinates are. Wait, I can’t tell you that!”

Xavier Zeiders, 9

“If I had a space ship, I would travel to the sun. I would find some way to bring all the planets and moon together. Actually, maybe I should not bring them together because I might explode every single planet. Although the sun might explode in 1 billion years. If I exploded that, then I’ll never see a lunar eclipse again (sadly).”
