Each week, The Sentinel publishes stories we receive to prompts in Kids World and on www.cumberlink.com. This week’s Kids Speak Out prompt was “If I could trade places with anyone, I would trade places with ...”

“If I could trade places with anyone, I would trade places with my dog. Then I would not have to go to school and I would be able to eat and play with anything in the world. I could sleep whenever I wanted and wake up whenever I wanted. I could even sleep where I want. I could get in the trash too!”

“If I could trade places with anyone, I would trade places with my friend, Mya. I would trade places with her because she is my friend and we could switch lives for a day. I could snoop in Mya’s things.”

“If I could trade place with anyone, I would trade places with Bruno Mars. Personally, I think his voice is amazing. He gets to see a whole bunch of other famous people. He has a mansion, and who wouldn’t want a mansion? He has many songs, and I could make new songs too. Bruno Mars is a popular singer/songwriter.”

“If I could trade places with anyone, I would trade places with my mom because she is the kindest, smartest woman I know. She is the best. She is a very good artist and has published books. I would trade with her because she is the best mom ever.”

“If I could trade places with anyone, I would trade places with a woodpecker so I could fly and have a long nose to smell dessert. I could bother people and peck their house, and maybe break a house to make a big hole to fit in.”

“If I could trade place with anyone, I would trade places with the dinosaurs! I would want to be a velociraptor. If I had a battle against a T-Rex or against another velociraptor, I would probably win. When I grow up I will be a scientist and try to look for fossils. I love dinos!”

“If I could trade places with someone, I would trade places with my little brother. He is very kind, usually, so it is very fun to play with him. Sometimes the games that he comes up with sound boring or ridiculous, but if you actually play his games, they turn out to be lots of fun. I’d love to have better game ideas like him, which is why I would like to be my little brother for a day. He is also the strongest, smartest and fastest kid in his entire first grade class, which would allow me to brag. He also has many great friends that I would like to meet and play with. I always wanted to know what it is like to be the younger brother, and this would be the perfect opportunity to figure this out. He is cool and smart.”

“If I could trade places with anyone, I would trade places with my mom because she is hard working, and she is brave. I would love to switch places with my mom so she wouldn’t have to work because she is cleaning the house all day. She deserves more than just sitting and cleaning all day. I love my mom so much. I would like her to take a day off.”

“If I could trade place with anyone, I would trade places with Albert Einstein. One day when I/Albert Einstein was figuring out what the hottest pepper is. I figured it out that it was the Carolina reaper pepper. It was hard to figure out. Some people still think that it is the ghost pepper, but they are wrong! People still try to tell people that it is the Carolina reaper. Then I/Albert Einstein was getting old. I decided to become me again. Plus I wanted to see my family.”
