Sentinel reporter Joseph Cress offers a daily digital glimpse back in Cumberland County history with help from our Newspapers.com archives:

High water from melting snow results in widespread flooding that prompts the Cumberland County Office of Emergency Preparedness to close down 14 roads in the boroughs of Camp Hill and Shippensburg and the townships of Hampden, Middlesex, Shippensburg, Silver Spring, Upper Allen, Upper Frankford and West Pennsboro.

In other news, a recent survey by the National Association of Home Builders shows that Carlisle, along with Harrisburg and Lebanon, is ranked 21 among the top 25 areas in the U.S. with the most affordable housing. This is in defiance of the national trend, which shows the most affordable housing is in the Midwest and South.
