75 Years Ago

Local Boy Scouts did their part for the home front during World War II by collecting over 13,500 pounds of waste paper in a canvass of Carlisle west of Pitt Street. The paper will be shipped to a York County plant that manufactures containers for K-rations. Households were encouraged to contact neighborhood Scout commissioners to arrange for the pickup of waste paper during spring cleaning.
