Election 2020: How voting and election results will work in Cumberland County this week

With new machines, a new ballot option, concerns over election security and misinformation, changing laws and court decisions and a global pandemic, voting in Cumberland County has never seemed more complicated.

And unlike other years, the process seemingly won’t be over on Election Day.

While votes have never been considered official until reported to the Pennsylvania Department of State nearly a week after Election Day, this year, county residents, and likely most Pennsylvania residents, won’t see a truly accurate picture of total votes come Tuesday night. Most residents shouldn’t even expect to see all of the votes tallied until later in the week.
