The Cumberland County Department of Public Safety said the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike has been reopened, but the department expects more delays as rush hour traffic starts this afternoon.

Megan Silverstrim, spokesperson for the department, said westbound was reopened, but eastbound is still closed in the area.

There is no word on when the highway will be completely reopened.

Silverstrim said the area as a whole hasn't seen too much traffic, but there was some traffic on the Harrisburg Pike that extends from the turnpike interchange back to just before North Middlesex Road. There are some delays, but Silverstrim said there is nothing major.

There may be more delays in that same area as rush hour hits this afternoon.

"Allow for a little extra travel time and be patient," Silverstrim said.

The Franklin County Coroner's Office has said the person who died in this morning's tractor-trailer crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike was the driver of the truck.

All lanes are still closed in Franklin County after the crash, which occurred at about 9:45 a.m. There is no word on when the highway will reopen.

The closure has caused a large backlog of tractor-trailers in Carlisle heading to Interstate 81.
