Road closures are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Friday evening on a portion of Erford Road in East Pennsboro Township, according to PennDOT.
Weather permitting, a PennDOT contractor will close the eastbound Camp Hill Bypass ramp to Erford Road and the Erford Road ramp toward Harrisburg.
The closures are related to a project that will fully reconstruct those ramps as well as a portion of Erford Road in Wormleysburg, PennDOT said in a news release. The nearly $7.8 million project includes removal of an existing bridge and replacing it with a wider structure that will permit two through lanes and a center lane. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019.
Other changes to traffic patterns will be announced as construction progresses, PennDOT said. The contractor - Atglen-based J.D. Eckman - may not close traffic lanes on weekdays on Erford Road between 6-8:30 a.m. or 3:30-6 p.m., or on the Camp Hill Bypass between 6-9 a.m.
PennDOT reminded motorists to be alert and slow down in construction zones.
