South Middleton School District will host a community meeting next Thursday to receive public input on proposed school start time changes planned for 2019-20.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Boiling Springs High School auditorium at 21 Academy St. Administrators will brief local residents on the potential roadblocks identified in recent focus group meetings as well as the work being done to address those concerns.
The South Middleton School Board may consider a swap in the start times of its elementary and secondary schools beginning in 2019-20.
Under the proposal, the school day for grade K-5 students in the W.G. Rice and Iron Forge buildings would run from 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
The school day for grades 6-12 students would run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for the Yellow Breeches Middle School and Boiling Spring High School.
