DOH: 79 new cases of COVID-19 in Monday's two-day report for Cumberland County

The state Department of Health reported in Monday's two-day report that there were 79 new cases of COVID-19 for Cumberland County.

The DOH does not release data on Sundays, so Monday's report includes data released for Sunday and Monday. The DOH reported 43 cases and one additional death for the county Sunday and 36 cases for the county Monday.

Sunday's report included 147 total test results, with 15 new probables. Comparing just the number of negative tests (104) and confirmed positive tests (28), the county saw about 21.2% of its tests come back positive.

Monday's report included 103 total test results, with five new probables. Comparing just the number of negative tests (67) and confirmed positive tests (31), the county saw about 31.6% of its tests come back positive.

The county's seven-day average of cases now sits at 48.71 and its 14-day per capita rate sits at 290.88.

Cumberland County had a total of 1,668 cases in the month of April, an increase of 231 cases over the total number of cases reported in March (1,437). There were 14 deaths in April, a decrease of one from the March total of 15.

On the Health Department’s weekly update to its Early Warning Monitoring System Dashboard Friday, Cumberland County showed decreases in percent positivity and incidence rate per 100,000 people for the week of April 23-April 29. The county’s percent positivity decreased to 5.3% for the week (down from 6.3%) and its incidence rate decreased to 91.6 (down from 118.8).

The state as a whole saw its percent positivity decrease to 7.6% (down from 8.6%) and incidence rate decrease to 138.8 (down from 170.5).

There were 46 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in the county in Monday's report (the same as Saturday), with eight in intensive care units, and seven on ventilators.

As of Monday's data, the Health Department says 49,304 partial vaccines have been administered in Cumberland County, with 68,279 full vaccines (both doses) administered. That means 32.48% of the county's eligible population (210,236 people) has been fully vaccinated.

In the southcentral region for Monday's two-day report, York County had 199 new cases, Blair County 106 new cases, Dauphin County 79 new cases, and Lebanon County 58 new cases.

The DOH confirmed Monday there were 1,728 additional positive cases of COVID-19 Monday in addition to 2,653 new cases reported Sunday, for a two-day total of 4,381 additional positive cases of COVID-19.
