State Police at Carlisle said three men from the Harrisburg area are in custody after robbing the Big Spring Deli Tuesday morning.
Police said two men entered the deli at 63 Carlisle Road, West Pennsboro Township, and approached the store clerk. The men brandished handguns and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes, cigars and lighters.
They fled in a white Nissan Altima.
Police were contacted at 7:44 a.m., and by 8:15 a.m., three suspects were in custody.
Police said troopers spotted the vehicle on Route 641 and attempted to stop it. After a short pursuit, the fleeing vehicle became disabled in a field near the 1500 block of Newville Road.
Police said three men fled on foot but were taken into custody a short time later.
Court documents show three men have been charged in relation to a robbery in West Pennsboro Township.
Derrick Charles, 22, of Harrisburg, was charged with robbery threat of serious injury, robbery taking property from another by force, conspiracy of robbery, prohibited possession of a firearm and firearms not to be carried without a license. Gregory Diosmar Pimentel, 20, of Harrisburg, was charged with robbery threat of serious injury, robbery taking property from another by force and conspiracy of robbery. Victor Manuel Gonzalez, 20, of Steelton, was charged with conspiracy of robbery, fleeing police and false identification to police.
The men were arraigned Tuesday in front of Magisterial District Judge Vivian Cohick, who set bail for all three at $275,000 cash. All three are in Cumberland County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 25.
Police were assisted by State Police at Newville, Carlisle Borough Police and North Middleton Township Police.
