- Charles Lester Smith, 52, of Newville, a Megan’s Law offender, was charged Nov. 3 with failure to register with Pennsylvania State Police and failure to verify address/be photographed. Smith did not update his current employment and current address in Hopewell Township within three business days as required by Megan’s Law, police said. He was arraigned and confined to Cumberland County Prison, and was unable to post $10,000 cash bail.

- Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash about 9:30 p.m. Nov. 5. Andrew Leach, 21, of Carlisle, did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Harvest Drive and Hartzdale Drive, police said. The driver of another vehicle was unable to stop in time and hit the passenger side of Leach’s vehicle. Two passengers in the second vehicle were injured, and one was taken to a local hospital. Both vehicles had to be towed.

- Stacy Marquise Council, 22, of Shippensburg, was charged with simple assault and harassment following a Nov. 6 incident. Council repeatedly punched a 16-year-old girl in the face, causing injuries, following an argument, police said. The incident occurred shortly before 2:10 a.m. in the 300 block of East King Street. Council was arraigned and confined to Cumberland County Prison, and was unable to post $2,000 bail.
