West Shore Regional Police say they have received a report that an unsecured vehicle with handguns inside was stolen early Monday morning.

The theft reportedly occurred between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. on East Crestwood Drive in Wormleysburg. Police asked residents in the area to check their home surveillance systems and report any suspicious activity by calling police at 717-238-9676.

"Numerous" police departments in the region have recently been taking reports of stolen vehicles, police said. West Shore police previously reported the theft of two unlocked vehicles, one of which contained a handgun, in July. 

Police reminded residents to remove keys from their vehicles and to lock their vehicles.
