A Shippensburg man discharged a firearm during a family fight Monday, police said.

The Shippensburg Police Department said officers were dispatched Monday to the 300 block of East Burd Street after a report of shots fired. Police said Brandon J. Erickson, 26, was involved in a physical altercation with family members, during which he discharged a firearm.

He was found in the first block of West Burd Street and taken into custody, police said. 

Erickson was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, and disorderly conduct, according to court documents. 

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kathryn H. Silcox and released on $15,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. April 22 in front of Magisterial District Judge H. Anthony Adams.
