Venegas Del Muro

A New Cumberland man hit and strangled a woman until she was unconscious and then raped her, State Police at Gettysburg said Friday. 

Eduardo Antonio Venegas Del Muro, 22, met the 22-year-old woman on the Tinder dating app, police said. He was in a vehicle with her at 1:42 a.m. Tuesday on Carlisle Pike in Latimore Township, Adams County, when he stopped the vehicle and both of them exited it. Venegas Del Muro then hit the alleged victim multiple times in the face and strangled her until she was unconscious, police said. 

He then sexually assaulted the woman, police said. He fled the scene, but was found and arrested Thursday.

Venegas Del Muro was charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping to facilitate a felony, kidnapping to inflict injury or terror, rape by forcible compulsion, sexual assault, strangulation, criminal use of a communications facility, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, indecent assault, and indecent exposure, according to court documents. 

Police said he was confined to Cumberland County Prison. His online court docket had not yet been updated Friday morning to include bail information or a date for a preliminary hearing. 

He also has an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer, police said.
