A Camp Hill man is in Cumberland County Prison after police say he raped another man while working at a Carlisle business.
Daniel L. Parsons, 45, is charged with felony rape by forcible compulsion, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault after police say he raped a man while working at GoodAll Pools and Spas on Noble Boulevard in Carlisle last year.
Around 8 p.m. June 14, 2017, the victim said he went to GoodAll Polls and Spas to test out a hot tub, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Carlisle Police.
At the time Parsons was the store manager at GoodAll Pools and Spas, police said.
The victim was wearing a bathing suit and was in for a “wet test” when he mentioned having back pain, according to police. Parsons told the victim he was a massage therapist and told the victim he would help him with his back, police said.
When the victim went to the bathroom at the back of the store, he said Parsons followed him, pulled off his clothes, forced him to the ground and raped him, according to the affidavit.
Parsons was questioned by police and admitted to meeting with the victim to sell him a hot tub and voluntarily provided a DNA sample, but denied there was any sexual contact between the two, police said. DNA from a rape kit conducted on the victim matched Parsons, according to police.
Those results were received on May 10, and Parsons was arrested on Wednesday, according to court records. He is being held at Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $90,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. May 23 in front of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Birbeck.
A representative from GoodAll Pools and Spas declined comment about the incident and about Parsons’s employment status since the time of the incident.
